Hey everyone! As of about half an hour ago the Toxic Yuri VN Jam is officially over! I'm incredibly proud to have been a part of such a massive game jam. I didn't expect the number of submissions to be over 200! I'm really excited to see everybody's work!

This jam taught me a lot, and I do mean a lot about things about development. My initial idea for this game was really large in scope. In the first few days of the jam I got together a 6,000 word script, and I think it easily would have been a lot longer than that. Unfortunately, I ended up burning myself out in those first few days, and life got in the way as well.  I traveled a bit, I had job interviews, and I had to care for a friend who just had surgery for several days. I initially planned on locking in really hard for this jam, but as often happens, life can get in the way.

I honestly ended up quitting and coming back twice before deciding that I wanted to put out *something* rather than nothing. Every time I'd quit I'd see the art people in the server were making or have friends ask about progress and feel motivated to jump right back in. I had to cut down the idea I had over and over until I was left with the script for this game. I wish I expanded on some things more, but I wanted to get a game out and not get it done right under the wire. I have been workshopping ideas for a sequel to this game (yes, already lol) so I may get to see those things realized soon enough.

Overall, this has been an amazing experience, and I do hope to work on even more game jams. I'm actually working on another game for the Only One Of Any Asset jam right now.  The lessons I've learned from this jam will serve me well in the future. To anybody reading this, I hope you enjoyed the finished game. It may be short, but it was the product of many hours of hard work. If you made a game for the jam, I'm so fucking proud of you, pat yourself on the back, have a drink, go outside for the first time in six weeks, you've earned it. 

This jam, and the many people I've met from it have been fucking awesome. I'm proud of all of us, and I hope to see all of you make even more art in the future! Take care girlkissers!
